If you are traveling South on the thruway ours is the first exit (Exit 9) almost immediately after you go through the tolls at the Tappan Zee bridge. At the end of the exit ramp turn right. The church is the gray granite stone building one mile north on the right hand side of Broadway (Rt. 9) at Elizabeth Street. Turn right on Elizabeth Street. Drive past the church to find the entrance to the parking lot on the right. If you are traveling North on the thruway (or west on 287), take Exit 9 (Tarrytown). Turn left at the end of the exit ramp. Proceed to the next light and turn right on Broadway (Rt. 9). Travel north approximately eight tenths of a mile. The church is the gray granite stone building on the right hand side of Broadway (Rt. 9) at Elizabeth Street. Turn right on Elizabeth Street. Drive past the church to find the entrance to the parking lot on the right. If you drive South on Rt. 9, drive through Sleepy Hollow on Rt. 9 which is Broadway. You'll drive past the Sleepy Hollow High School on your left and then Patriot's Park on your right. After the park you're in the business district of Tarrytown. Go through two stoplights. The second light is Main Street (there's a 7/11 store on the Southwest corner of the intersection). Continue straight on Broadway one block to Elizabeth Street. First Baptist is the church in front of you on your left. Turn left on Elizabeth Street. Drive past the church to find the entrance to the parking lot on the right.

Staff

Dr. Torrey Robinson, Senior Pastor

Torrey has been Senior Pastor of FBC since 1997. He and wife Sue have two grown sons - Carey and Carl. Torrey earned his Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Seminary. His passion is to make a tangible difference for God in Westchester County.

Steve Armstrong, Associate Pastor

Steve has been the Assistant Pastor since 2002. He and his wife Elaine have one daughter, Sophia. Steve received a Bachelor's from Binghamton University, and is 95% finished with his Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary of the East. He directs the Youth Ministry, Children's Ministry and Small Groups. HIs passion is to find creative means to do outreach and discipleship.

Blank EldersFBC is governed by a group of leaders known as Elders. Elders are nominated and chosen by the congregation. They are responsible to set the vision for the church, and provide Biblical teaching and direction so the entire church can grow to maturity. Besides Pastor Torrey and Steve (who've you met under Staff), we have two other Elders who serve at FBC. Here they are:

Dr. Ken Ocheltree

Ken and his wife Debbie are long standing members of FBC. They have five children and live in Ossining. Ken has a phd in electrical engineering and has studied theology at bethel seminary of the east. Ken and Debbie lead a small group at their home and Ken teaches Sunday School.

Doug Morton

Doug and his wife Barbara are long standing members of FBC. They have an ever expanding number of grandchildren whom they love to spend time with. Doug is the Missions Committee chairperson at FBC and also teaches Adult Sunday School

We Believe WE BELIEVE that the Holy Scriptures, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the very Word of God written, inerrant in the original writings and therefore, that they constitute the supreme and final authority in matters of faith and life.WE BELIEVE that there is one and only one, living and true God, subsisting in three Persons-the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that these three are eternally co-existent and equal in essence and attributes, yet distinct in Person, Office and Activity.WE BELIEVE in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His Ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His High Priestly ministry on behalf of His people and in His personal and visible return to the Earth in power and glory.WE BELIEVE that all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and their salvation is received only through faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ. We believe that this salvation is a gift of God, in no way, nor to any degree, depending upon any merit which one might seek to achieve by his own works.WE BELIEVE that the Church has a two-fold aspect:1. That the Church of Jesus Christ is a living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and of which all who acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord are members. This is the Church universal, the body of Christ.2. That the local Church is composed of regenerated, baptized believers voluntarily united for the purpose of worship, Christian fellowship, prayer, teaching of the Word, service to the body through the development and use of talents and gifts and the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ throughout the world.WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the local Churches - Believers Baptism by immersion and the Lords Supper.WE BELIEVE that the local Church is independent and self-governing under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe, therefore, that it must be free from interference from all ecclesiastical and political authority, and that the Church and State must be kept separate since they have different functions, each fulfilling its duties, free from the dictation or patronage of the other. Under the watch care of the Elders and other supportive leadership, its members are to work together in love and unity, intent on the one ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the body and in the eternal existence of all men - the saved, having been redeemed by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be forever with Him in glory - the lost, having died impenitent and unreconciled to God, to be condemned to eternal punishment in separation from the Lord.
